Welcome to VAAL

VAAL has two art exhibits per year - Spring (May), a juried exhibit, and Fall (October), an all members judged exhibit. To be eligible to enter either exhibit, you must be a current, paid member of VAAL and have attended three meetings in the 12 months preceding the Exhibit. (For example: To enter the 2012 Spring Exhibit, you must have attended three meetings since the Spring Exhibit in 2011; to enter the 2012 Fall Exhibit you must have attended three meetings since the Fall Exhibit of 2011.)

Exhibit Eligibility

Because one person can make the difference as to whether or not a class or workshop is held, please make sure you are committed to the dates/courses you are selecting. If you cancel prior to 7 days before the start of class, a full refund, minus a $10 registration fee, will be issued. If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the start of a class, you will only receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be made after the start of a class. A full refund will be issued if a class is canceled by VAAL.

General Information

The Visual Arts Association of Livonia is dedicated to advancing knowledge and appreciation of the creative arts by offering studio classes and twice yearly exhibits, all open to the public. Enrollment is open to everyone 18 years of age or older without restriction.
  

   



Membership
VAAL membership is encouraged. Member privileges include reduced tuition fees and participation in our shows (see exhibit eligibility below). Become an active member and enjoy these special privileges and help the continued growth of our Art Center. The cost of membership is $30 per year with the membership year running from January 1 to December 31.

 


VAAL Meetings
For 2012 will be held on the third Thursday of January, February, March, April, May, September, October and November in the VAAL classroom at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated.

Class Registration Process


The first week of class registration will be for members only. Open registration will follow. Registration for workshops and classes must be made by mail and include full payment of tuition for all classes/workshops selected for the semester. Class size is limited and enrollment is first-come-first-served, based on the postmark on the envelope. You will be notified only if a class is full or cancelled. A full refund will be given in either case.  Classes must be paid for in full.  Unfortunately we cannot prorate class or workshop fees.
