Judith Reynolds Waterman

A member of Detroit Artists Market, Northville Art House, Plymouth Community Arts Council, and Visual Arts Association of Livonia I have studied and painted with acrylic paints for six years.

I have participated in several shows both juried and as an organization member.  Most recently, I have had works in Northville Art House’s juried shows “West of Center” June, 2011, and “Outside In” October 2011.  Four of my works were chosen for the “Art for the Holidays 2011” sale at the Detroit Artists Market.

Drawn to the possibilities of colors and textures my work ranges from impressionistic realism to abstract, but I find that naturally occurring images are often the basis for my abstract paintings.  I often use a pallet knife instead of a brush to achieve a multi-layered multi-tone effect.

I have studied at Plymouth Community Arts Council, Schoolcraft College with Jamie Golob and Debby Zuccarini, with Nancy Reyner in Albuquerque at New Mexico Art League, and in small groups with other teachers.
